Why Does My AC System Blow Hot Air in Timberlake, NC?

You never want to enter your home on a hot day and find that the air conditioner is blowing warm air. If you’re experiencing warm air blowing from your home’s AC system in Timberlake, NC, it could be due to one of the following issues:

The Air Filters Clog

An air conditioning filter’s job is to trap particles and pathogens found in the air. This helps keep the air in your home safe and clean, but filters can become over-saturated as time passes. Once debris clogs them, they keep the air from circulating the way it should.

The Evaporator Coils Are Dirty

Evaporator coils are crucial when it comes to how your AC system cools your home. Unfortunately, they do get dirty, which can keep them from cooling the air properly if left unaddressed. Once this happens, you’ll feel warm air blowing instead of cool air.

The Condensate Line Clogs

Your AC system creates condensation while it goes through its cooling process. The condensate line carries this moisture away.

Because this line is constantly moist, residue can build up within it. If it clogs, condensate will remain on your AC system’s coils, which can then freeze over and make your air conditioner turn off. Even if your AC system still runs, frozen coils make it harder for it to do its job, leading to warmer air coming out of your vents.

AC System Refrigerant Leak

Refrigerant allows the AC system to cool your Timberlake, NC, home. If that refrigerant is leaking, the air conditioner won’t be able to produce cold air.

Duct Leaks

A leak in the ductwork can cause warm air to blow from your AC system because warm air can get in and mix with the conditioned air or the cooler air can get out of the leaks. Having us clean your ductwork and inspect it regularly can help prevent this issue.

If you notice warm air blowing from your air conditioner, you’ll want to have the problem diagnosed and repaired before the temperature outside begins to rise. Contact Regan & Son HVAC, Plumbing & Electric for all of your AC repair and maintenance needs.
